thats completely ridiculus!! we'd all have to dig thise mile-deep bowls to hold the poo, then theres the whole converting it to energy, which would probably never be worth it for anyone owning under 1000 cows. ALSO, normaly, cows are out to pasture getting fat and HAPPY, unlike dairy cows, who stand on cement all day. their poo goes into trenches right off the bat where it is scooped into the bowl. it would just never work for us.

[...] Jul at Veggie Chic talks about putting cow poop to good use. (And, no, I don’t think John Evans at Syntagma is putting cow patties to good use.) [...]

I think that sounds like a great idea! Imagine how much electricity could be produced if ALL cow-owners were REQUIRED to do this. :)

We use to get Straus cream, milk and ice cream all the time-and converted a few of our friends to it as well. The milk is up to "Swiss standards," at least according to Jan, and everything we tried was so good!
They're also as responsible as they claim-I actually emailed them once to ask a few questions about their animal husbandry and. . .they actually answered. . .and invited us to tour their farm.
