Hi,
I found the perfect tattoo to support Autism. It is a butterfly Puzzle that is leaning as though it is flying, has 1 missing puzzle piece (no color).
I did a google search "Autism awareness tattoos" and it was the 1st link for me. My friend just got a similiar tattoo for her 40th birthday.

Hi,
I've been researching this for about 2-3 monthes now because ive been wanting a tattoo for a while and ive wanted something that will represent something close to my heart. My sister is a child with autism and ive been trying to get a image drawn up before i go to symbolize her (ex. favourite animal, character, object.. etc) with puzzle peices incorperated in the image. but its very hard to figure it out because she does not speak. But i hope to figure it out sometime soon!

I am in the exact position you are in. I was researching for my puzzle tat for my son Jackson. I am equally amazed at all the discussion. Very interesting opinions and I respect every one.
I have several tattoos already and this is just one of several I plan to get. I am doing a blue puzzle peice on my left inner fore arm.

The ribbon and puzzle piece is designed with autism awareness in mind and the puzzle piece is seen by the autism community with a focus on children. The puzzle reference to autism is that there is so many unknowns when it comes to autism in terms of causes, treatments, therapy and such that a puzzle fits pretty well. Each and every day there are ups and downs depending on a variety of factors and if you shake up a puzzle the pieces get mixed up and you have to start over...so a puzzle works. I have worked with children and adults on the autism spectrum and I do not feel that the puzzle piece or ribbon is offensive. I feel that it represents the spectrum very accurately.
