My favorite art quote is somewhat flip, but I like it anyway! Do you have a favorite? Email it to me along with your website or blog link, and put “LUL: favorite art quote” in the subject line, and I’ll post them as they come in! Send your quotes to cyndi @ b5Media.com (remove the spaces).

Other careers suck too, but at least you get to use crayons.

This appeals to my somewhat warped sense of humor! I made a collage for my husband to look at when he has bad days at work, featuring an old dictionary illustration of a vacuum cleaner and the words “well, that sucks!”
LOLOLOLOL!!!
Ohmygosh, I might have to adapt that idea and make something for my husband!
I love it!
Now I have to put my thinking cap on.
I have a zillion quotations on art, but here are a few favorites:
Matisse once told the Hollywood film star Edward G. Robinson that the only thing that drove him to paint was the rising urge to strangle someone.
I can’t think much of a people who drew cats the same for four thousand years. ~Lord Kitchener on Egyptian art
A portrait is a painting with something wrong with the mouth. ~John Singer Sargent
It takes two to paint. One to paint, the other to stand by with an axe to kill him before he spoils it. ~ William Merritt Chase
How important are the visual arts in our society? I feel strongly that the visual arts are of vast and incalculable importance. Of course I could be prejudiced. I am a visual art. ~Kermit the Frog
I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers ~ Claude Monet
Diana, I’m going to post you in a box of your own!!
I love animals. I once had twenty-six cats.
-Andy Warhol
