Quilt Show Outings

Making a mother/daughter event of a quilt show becomes a special time for my daughter and granddaughter. Along with my daughters best friend, they try to attend a quilt show in Nashua, NH each November.
Although they dont take classes, just attending, viewing the displays and chatting with other quilters gives them inspiration. This time together, as other quilters have found, forms a special bond of friendship and creates memories. Whenever my schedule allows, I attend quilt shows with them, making it a multi-generational interest in quilting.
This year, while in the area, the gals took a side trip and did some geo caching. Following the clues given at an online geo cache site, they trekked over trails in a nearby park, located these hidden items, and signed the log books.
Afterward, they dined at a favorite restaurant. Sometimes they try a new dining place; other occasions find them at one theyve enjoyed before.
In addition, this was a lovely day weatherwise, an exceptionally warm one for New Hampshire in November.
What have been some of your favorite quilting outings? By yourself? With other quilters? With family members?
