Quilting Novels

I enjoy reading and collecting novels with references to quilting. Family heritage themes, as well as mysteries pique my interest. Books that trace a quilting heritage over the decades and offer fascinating insights into quilting in various ages also captivate me.

Novels that take place in today’s setting often add to our knowledge of quilting groups, quilt designs, and various types of fabrics and techniques.

Nowadays, many of these novels are written as a series. Once I’ve gotten caught up with one novel, I usually find I must read the others.

My daughter introduced me to the Elm Creek Quilters series by Jennifer Chiaverini. We find them interesting as Jennifer traces quilting through former generations, as well as the lives of modern characters, all woven together with the common quilting thread. She also has gone on to write quilt pattern books.

We enjoy, too, the mystery series by Earlene Fowler, as she relates the adventures of Benni Harper. These have become very popular as the reader follows Benni’s life and the challenges she encounters.

Do you have any favorite fiction books relating to quilting and patchwork?
