Rabbi Rami Shapiro and his son Aaron Shapiro are beginning a free journal writing workshop called 04/04. The workshop will run through the Linebaugh Public Library System. That’s in Rutherford County, Tennessee. (I had to look it up.) You are required to register beforehand. During the workshop the Rabbi wants to
“… to promote journal writing as a tool for thinking through the events of our lives and discovering deeper meaning in them,” Shapiro said. “During the workshop, we will explore the practical craft of our journal writing, promote the capacity of journal writing to deepen our life experiences, and begin to practice journal writing using writing prompts in timed writing sessions.”
Workshop participants will be encouraged to continue with their journal writing through the 04/04 blog. The name of the workshop comes from the George Orwell novel, 1984. Rabbi Shapiro is the founder of the One River organisation.
