Random Notes on My Life with CFS

You may have noticed a whole lot of silence on this blog for the last week or two. The reason for this is because I have been asleep. I sleep everywhere now, at work, the commuter train, at home, at the movies, I even doze off when I am standing in line at the supermarket. Now that the insomnia is gone, I am having to deal with the effects of the flip side. To make this up to all of you (and to b5) I am devoting most of the hours of today to blogging.
In case you are wondering what kind of things have been brought on by all of this sleeping. Here is a list of all sorts of out of character stuff that has been happening to me, because of this latest development.
- This morning, I discovered that I bought banana flavored milk for my coffee, instead of my usual 1% – I did not do this on purpose. I decided to use it anyway – it’s not terrible…but I won’t be buying it again.
- I have fallen asleep at work 5 times, in the last 5 days.
- I did a face plant (aka bad fall) in a very busy intersection – a kind man got out of his car to help me out. – OK so this is not entirely out of character for me, but I was very tired when it happened.
- I have absolutely no patience for anyone these days
- The urge to move away and live in a cave is very strong. Caves are dark, I think I might do alright living in one.
- I am completely covered in hives – I believe this is stress related – brought on by too much sleep???
- I want to get a cat. This is completely absurd. I am a dog person, I don’t even like cats.
- I have attempted to write about 13 posts for CFS Squared, but have fallen asleep in every single attempt. For whatever reason, I keep forgetting to save my work. It’s been a very frustrating experience.
- Most meals that I have made have consisted of Ramen noodles, because I am too tired to cook properly. I am even too tired to throw in some pieces of broccoli into it. I must remember to buy some fruit today.
I am not even going to talk about the “real” symptoms that I have been experiencing because of the last two weeks. I suspect you know all about the “other stuff” that has been going on with me.

OMG! What’s going on?!? I had a friend who got hives if she was asked out on a date. It freaked her out. She would also fall asleep when she was upset about something or other. It does sound like stress, unless it’s just MSG in the ramen noodles!
Hmmm its possible its from a freak out caused by having a date. I had one of those this week.
And it could be from the noodles. I really need to start eating better really soon. I did manage to eat some spinach and tomato the other day….but its not enough.
Too bad that I am completely craving pizza and wine today. Guess the good for me food is going to have to wait until tomorrow or tuesday.
I’ve been doing the hive thing this week too – and having the hardest time trying to figure out why! All the pollen is supposed to be on low tide right now…
I’m at the “I don’t feel tired” (said with an innocent tone in my head) stage – meanwhile my eyes keep doing this freaky dance that happens when the controlling muscles relax then focus again (I think that’s what it is – or maybe my eyes dart in other directions for a second) – very nauseating and so difficult to find out what happens next for Miss Marple
. I think maybe I need some sleep…
Jenna,
sounds exactly what is going on with me. I try so hard to fight the sleep thing, but I just can’t do it. I totally know the eye dance though….weird feeling.
Hope you can get some quality rest soon…..and that your hives disappear really fast!
