Raspberry Compound as Fat Burner

RaspberriesJapanese scientists have discovered a compound found in raspberries that burns fat in a similar way that capsaicin in peppers can.

“While trying to find a substance which has a similar chemical structure to that of capsaicin which is known to burn fat, we discovered raspberry ketone,” said Mariko Hara, a researcher at Kanebo’s basic research laboratory in Odawara, on the outskirts of Tokyo.

“The essential oil of raspberries melts human fat more than three times as much as capsaicin,” she told Reuters.

Clinical tests with diet pills and adhesive sheet-type plasters containing the raspberry compound as the active ingredient have turned out promising results.

“Through clinical tests, 70 per cent of those tested were found to have lost about one kilogram after taking tablets with raspberry ketone for a week.

After using plasters for about one month, about five per cent of the fat or one millimetre of fat under the area covered by the plaster was found to have disappeared.

They say we might be seeing these products out in the market by middle of this year.

This is becoming big and fast. They are putting raspberry ketone in just about every new dietary supplement to include Creatine based bodybuilding supplements to promote lean muscle building. I have two supplements I take with this in it. It kinda works like a diuretic also.

What if you ate raspberries to lose weight. How much raspberries would you have to eat to see any weight lose? Mark

How many raspberries have to be eaten to be beneficial?

Just to note…the ‘Japanese Scientists’ doing the study were funded from the company (Kanebo) with a patent on the diet pills.
