Reader poll: were your kids appreciative of holiday gifts?

After several conversations with coworkers, and some observation of young relatives of my own, I was surprised by how at kids react to gifts (from you or from other people) during the holiday season. I have heard of kids flat out rejecting presents while others send thank you notes within days.

I know that every child is different so I would like to hear what you have to say. Extra comments are welcome as always.
