Reasons to Journal

I know I promised I’d write an entry with my reason for journal writing, but yesterday was one of those days. I had to write a simple entry instead. So here, as promised, is my response to Monday’s entry.
I write in my journal because the very action of putting words on paper releases stress, helps order my thoughts, acts as a sounding board, is enjoyable, helps me in expressing myself, motivates me to write clearly, inspires and encourages creativity, excites me about self development, gives me some me time, allows me to play with language, gives me room to develop ideas, gives me a place to rant and rave, allows me to be boring when I need to, is a place to share my secrets, is a friend who never butts in with their opinion, lets me be myself, and probably many more reasons.
I could probably return to this every day and write different reasons. What about you? Why do you journal? Please share in the comments section below.
