Reclining the Seat on an Airplane

I must admit, I’m not a frequent air traveler. But when I do fly, I always seem to sit behind some long and leggy gent who insists on reclining his seat back to the point where I can’t even put my try table down. I think it’s incredibly rude.

However, I know that other people seem to think it’s just fine. After all, they reason, it’s their seat, they can do what they want with it. I, on the other hand, would like them to at least turn their relaxed head around and see that there’s no way I can possibly relax while I’m crammed in the seat like a sardine.
So who’s right?

I caught this very cool article that agreed with me. It said a person should at least look back and see how the recline of their seat affects the person behind them.

What do you think?

You see, I have to agree with you. I think it’s so rude when the person in front of me just shoves their seat back without a care in the world. Which is why, in retaliation, I have become a bit ruthless. Whenever I notice that a seat is coming back towards me, up go my knees as fast and high as I can get them. Why? To keep the seat-back from coming any closer to me. Rock/Hard-place as far as I’m concerned. If/when I ever move my seat back, it’s very slightly, and I check to see if the person behind me still has room. We only get so much on a plane, lol.

  2. That’s true. Those seats today don’t have as much leg room as they once did. Great tip about putting your knees up! I’m going to have to do that next time.

My grandfather spent the last 50 years of his life traveling, all 6 feet 3 inches of him saw 6 continents and he never once put his seat back, if he could manage without it, anyone can.
Although personally I think the people who dont stop their kids from kicking your seat are far worse.
