Recycle Those Cellphones

Did you know that around 80% of your mobile phone is actually recyclable? Well, now you know. But you never did get around to recycling your old and unwanted mobile phone now, have you?

The US Environmental Protection Administration had mentioned that only 20% of the total mobile phones produced have gone through recycling. Now the remaining number of mobile phones lie discarded in homes and some are thrown in the trash. The thing is, with the huge amount of mobile phones being discarded, our environment is not going to get well because these mobile phones have heavy metals which are poisonous and dangerous to our Earth. Included in the list of dangerous metals in phones are lead, mercury, beryllium, and cadmium.

EPA now has a call and a good one at that. They are asking people to recycle their old and unwanted phones. There are locations where users can drop off these old mobile phones. These groups would recycle the phones properly.
