April 22, 2008 by Sherry Osborne

With the hot weather rapidly approaching the northern hemisphere, thoughts turn to cold beverages. Reed’s makes all natural ginger brews, root beers, colas, and ginger candies that are not only better for you than your average bottled beverages, they’re packed with flavor.

Reed's Ginger Brews

Reed’s is giving away a gift of 24 assorted bottles of their natural drinks plus some assorted candies! Seriously! Their website includes a selection of recipes for drinks and even food that you can try with them if you win.

In order to win, here’s what you need to do:

1. Leave a comment here with a valid email address so I can contact you – don’t worry, it won’t show up on the site and I won’t spam you!
2. Tell me the funniest thing your child has ever said. If your child isn’t speaking yet, tell me the funniest thing you’ve heard someone else’s kid say.
3. That’s it!

I’ll be closing the contest next Tuesday at 6pm Eastern time and I’ll make a random drawing on Wednesday morning.

Good luck!

I’m a huge ginger ale fan. These look yummy.

  2. Lesha says:

A couple weeks ago I was at Family Store and my 2 year old son asked this stranger if she was okay. He certainly is’nt shy. ~lol~

  3. Leah says:

I was teasing my brother about a girl he was telling me about and my son who was about 3 at the time, told me something like, “hey how bout you shut the he.. up”. Now what was so funny about it was he said it at the right moment and coming from him it was perfect, he knows not to say mommy and daddy words so it was just perfect to stick up for his Uncle.

  4. Kelby says:

The sodas look great! When my daughter was potty training a couple years ago, she sprinted to the bathroom. She didn’t quite make it, looked down at hr pull up, and yelled, “Oh, come on!”

  5. Linette says:

Before my son could even talk, he would point his finger, shake it up and down, and start yelling. I always told my husband it was probably a good thing we couldn’t understand what he was saying:)

  6. simple mom says:

My 3-year-old talks nonstop. Just yesterday, we were at Ikea and my husband jokingly asked her to get him a drink refill. She said, “Dad, first I have to grow up nice and big and strong, and then I can do it. But right now I’m still very, very tiny. Just wait a little bit.”

  7. Jennifer says:

My dog Simon likes to chew paper, including board books. This week, my toddler picked up one of the damaged books, shook it up and down and said “Simon No!” over and over again.

My daughter made up this joke when she was very young, “why did the chicken cross the road? so McDonald’s wouldn’t catch him and make him a McNugget!” we loved knock-knock and chicken road jokes and were always coming up with new ones. She was 4 or 5 at the time. Peace Out!

  9. Mari Ickes says:

My son is hilarious. Let me pick just one:
My son Night poked my husband Josh in the face. Josh told Night not to poke him in the face because it hurt. Night told Josh to poke HIM in the face, so Josh did, but Night said it didn’t hurt.

Josh told Night that it didn’t hurt because he didn’t poke him very hard, even though he should have in order to teach him a lesson.

Night somberly replied that lessons don’t work. When Josh asked why, Night said that he had tried to teach me (his mom) a lesson, and it didn’t work. Night went on to tell this story:

When I was little and sleeping in Mom’s tummy, she used to get mad and yell.
I would hit her to teach her a lesson, but it never worked. She just kept yelling.

It is true-I did yell a lot when I was pregnant with Night, I was teaching 8th grade English. I did yell a lot.

  10. Erin H. says:

Well, he’s only two, but here’s a good one:

The other day our little boy was sitting at the dinner table and decided he was finished with his food. Since he hadn’t eaten very much, my husband and I told him he had to eat three more bites before he could get down. I wanted to make sure he understood, so I repeated it. “Three bites, little guy. Three.”

He looked at us with shrewd eyes and that badly-hidden grin that says he thinks he’s going to get away with something. We could just see his little mind preparing to negotiate his way down. So he holds up an indeterminate number of fingers and loudly announce the number of bites he’s decided he will eat: “FOUR!”

  11. molly says:

Just after watching a news story about a recent tornado, I was changing my daughter’s poopy diaper and my three year old said, “Mommy, it’s a poop storm!”

  12. Michele says:

The funniest this week was “Whats that?” when she saw me wearing a dresss….

  13. wendy says:

I was talking with my 3-yo about how you get called Miss before you’re married, and Mrs. afterwards (because she told me that she was big now so I should call her Mrs. E instead of Miss E)… so she told me that her oldest sister (who is 18) would “get married, and then she will have a man. She will wear a dress and tights, and she will be a princess!”

  14. Emily N. says:

When asked questions during the Children’s Message at my church every week, the youngest kids in the group often answer something completely unrelated that makes everyone laugh like

Pastor: “Who died on the cross for your sins?”"

Little Kid: “Sometimes I like to ride my bike.”

  15. melissa says:

me: how old are you now?
    niece: three and three corners

  16. Sherry says:

Contest is closed! Thanks for participating, I’ll let you know who won tomorrow!
