Registry Review
I recently signed up for Land of Nod’s Baby Registry because I love their products. And because I write for several blogs they asked me what I thought of the registry.
I only have one (okay two) dislikes.
1. When signing up for the registry one has to enter either Baby, Birthday, Holiday, or Wish list and then the event date. However, for those of us who adopt we don’t always adopt a baby… There are other sites like Pottery Barn Kids and Babies R Us. On these sites one is able to enter an adoption tag but on all sites one has to enter an event date.
2. What I really liked about Pottery Barn Kids registry was the checklist that was available to me when I was registering (mock registration). They had a kids list and a baby list which makes it so much easier for those of us adopting toddlers. That is what I used as a guideline when we adopted AJ and it worked out great for nursery essentials, playroom storage, and fundamentals.
However, when adopting a toddler please remember that an adopted toddler can still a baby. ie: they still need things like rocking chairs, changing tables, bottles, cribs, etc. Oh, I got blasted for this when I told people we were ordering a changing table and I was going to be bottle feeding a toddler for supplemental nutrients and attachment.
I could not live without that changing table because he was trained to get dressed on one and the bottle time was the only time he would look at me (into my face) for months.
All in all though, I’m stickin’ with Land of Nod’s Baby Registry because I really like their products. Check out what I have already put on my wish list (but not made available to the public) and signed up for…I don’t want to get too ahead of myself, right?
Look…don’t touch.
Update: I got an update today from Land of Nod after they had a web team meeting. It looks like the registry checklist is on its way back in January! They added over 400 new products recently and have updated so much that the checklist they used to have was obsolete. So, take a look back in January and send me a shout with your feedback. They want to know!
