Rehab boot camp?

Seems a bit extreme at first glance, but can a boot camp help people who live with chronic pain? According to the people who run a program affiliated with Northwestern University in Illinois, yes, such a program can help.

The rehabilitation program works with patients five days a week for four weeks. During the four weeks, not only on the biological aspect of pain, but on the psychological and social aspects as well.

Since there are many aspects of life that are affected by chronic pain, these are addressed as needed by the healthcare professionals who make up the team. They include a doctor, a clinical psychologist, physical and occupational therapists, and biofeedback and movement therapists.

Perhaps not all patients need the services of all the professionals, but having them all available in the same place with the same goal in mind, can only help the patient in the long run.
