Remembrance Day 2008

Remembrance Day

Today was Remembrance Day here in Australia. We observed the minute of silence while we were at the library, but it was interesting to me that the library staff did not take the time to remember. While out shopping I asked the girl who served me if they had done so. Apparently they made an announcement and everyone stopped working, serving and shopping for one minute.

Last time I mentioned Remembrance Day on this blog was two years ago. I focused on silence, but this time I’d like to encourage you to remember. While this day is about those who lost their lives in World War I, you could remember anything that you feel has been significant in your life. Take the time, observe silence if you need to, and give the event some deep thought. Perhaps create a memorial in your visual journal about the event.

I hope you enjoy this journal writing prompt. Please leave any comments in the section below.

  1. What is remembrance day?

  2. The short answer is a day to remember those lost in World War One, as I did mention in this entry. But for more information, click on the link in the first paragraph of my entry. Hope that helps. Thanks for asking a question. ;-)
