Renewable New York

New York. This has gotta be one of the most intriguing places on earth. And mind you, there is this one person I know who’s included “a visit to New York” an item on his list of things to do before he retires.

Anyway, I have come to think of this city as one of the dirtiest in terms of pollution. But trends are changing and New York’s going green.

Last Monday, a proposal was sent out and it stated that the city of New York would be using more solar and wind energy. And the city would also be using power from renewable sources of energy.

Lt. Gov. David Paterson declared, “With the world’s climate changing and traditional dirty energy sources causing geopolitical instability, these recommendations will put New York on a path to become part of a global solution.”

And if New York can go green, the rest of the world can. Well, that’s what I think.
