Resolutions for This Sleepy Person

I love New Years Resolutions Trees - I wish I thought to put one up

The bloggers of the Science and Health Channel of b5media decided to do our resolutions just a bit later than normal. You know because we are sooo different! Actually, I think we are all just so busy, that we haven’t had a whole lot of time to put some thought into them. So we got a whole week extension. I love extensions, they are the best friend of this chronically fatigued person.

I have already given you some of my personal resolutions, blog more, drink more water, read the Globe and Mail newspaper more frequently, get more fresh air – and so on. But I hadn’t really thought about my wellness resolutions. So here they are, in no particular order.

I resolve to:

  • Continue with my twice monthly acupuncture regime – it’s working for me, so why stop something that is doing what it’s supposed to. I understand that Marijke over at Help My Hurt, is planning on trying acupuncture to help with her pain management, so I think I will spend some time encouraging her to try it as well.
  • Restart my mindfulness regime practice -meditation is all well and good, but I really need to be able to practice it everyday. So I am going to sign up for classes for a bit of extra help.
  • Start taking semi-regular Alexander Technique lessons – it’s too expensive to go every week, let alone several times a week, but a refresher once a month should suffice. Alexander Technique does wonderful things for pain management. Because it concentrates on your posture, you look and feel like you have grown significantly, when you leave your teacher’s office.
  • Try hydrotherapy – these treatments at local day spas are quite expensive, so I am only aiming for one treatment this year.
  • Attempt to maintain an exercise regime -So far I am doing pretty good with the 45 minute walk before and after work. So far no falls – and if I can keep that up – I will be happy.
  • Try to find some quality time away from my computer this year. With 2 b5media blogs that require very regular posting, and a new blog that requires some time as well ( although not as much as this one), this might not be as easy as I would like it to be. I will definitely give it my best shot though.
  • Increase not only my water intake, but my green tea intake. Both are super good for us, whether we are suffering from an illness or not. In fact, while I am writing this I am sipping some marvelous green tea from Tea forte, which is the best tea I have ever tasted. The kind I am drinking right now is, Green Tango.

Oh and what I am going to not try to do this year, is give up coffee. That nectar is just too delicious to deny myself of its greatness.
I think that’s enough. Along with my personal resolutions, I have plenty to work on next this year.

How about you, what are you wellness resolutions?

Thanks for using my picture, I’d have preferred it if you’d linked directly to my flickr page though so I got the credit more clearly.
