Respect a Stroke Victim’s Privacy

If ever you or your family member suffers a stroke or heart attack while outside of the comfort and privacy of your home, be aware of the recent trend for people to photograph anything and everything at any time regardless of how inappropriate. This post at An Island Life made me really angry.
Flight Attendants have keys that can open the door from the outside. When the family went in, they found him on the floor. Apparently, he had suffered a stroke. We made an announcement asking if there were any medical personnel on board. Luckily, 2 doctors and a nurse came forward.
With the assistance of MedLink and a portable defibrillator, we took turns performing CPR on the passenger for about an hour. Eventually, MedLink decided it was time to stop and declared him dead. It was such a sad moment for the family and the flight crew.
Read what a bunch of crazy, disrespectful passengers did next. If I were there and had a mace pepper spray on me, I would have been tempted to use it. Grrrr.
