Review: Choco gives the new FurBuster Cat De-Shedding Tool a Try

In just a few, I’ll reveal whether FurBuster is Choco-approved. Bamboo sent one to me for Choco’s review.

But first,

What is the FurBuster?

It’s a new de-shedding system for your cat from Bamboo.

What’s different about FurBuster?

Unlike FURminator (which I used to brush out cats after baths at a former job), the FurBuster allows you to change blade sizes. Mine came with a two-inch blade, but larger blade sizes may be purchased separately for use on dogs or larger cats. Also, if your blade becomes too worn or damaged, you have the option to purchase another blade – not a whole new brush. (A nice blade cover is included.)

FurBuster tucks hair away (into the blade) while brushing. Instead of all the hair you’re removing flying everywhere, it stays tucked nicely inside the blade to be removed later. There’s no glob of hair on the tip of the blade as you’re brushing. Removing the accumulated hair from the blade is easy, unlike with standard pet brushes.

It’s more affordable than many of the higher-end brushes out there. The FurBuster is selling on amazon for $22.99.

Other than that..

It removes hair nicely and features an ergonomic handle design.

What does Choco think?

He adores it! If you’re not brushing your cat, you’re missing out on some very special bonding time. I’ve yet to meet a tame cat that doesn’t enjoy being brushed. The plus side is that you’ll see less hair all over your furniture and clothes.

Considerations

If you’re used to a soft kitty brush, FurBuster may be a little bit of an adjustment for you. The blade isn’t sharp, exactly, but you do need to be aware of the amount of pressure you’re applying while brushing. Full instructions are included.

And I’d like to add that not all the brushes are purple! Mine is light green.

Have you tried FurBuster?
