Review: Tiki Cat by Petropics

tiki-cat-wet-food-tuna.jpgThe cute packaging lured me in, but Choco, my cat, agrees this one should be a mainstay.

Choco sampled a couple of flavors of Tiki Cat wet cat food, but his winner is the Lanai Luau — Tuna in Crab Surmini Consomme. It’s fresh strips of seafood delight! The food (which actually looks like tuna and crab) does seem to be totally edible for humans, but I’ll pass.

Tikki Cat is made by Petropics, LLC in California. I paid .99 cents for a 2.8 oz can at my local pet store.

Tiki Cat features:

Dolphin-safe tuna with low mercury levels (Caught from Petropics fishing vessels in the South Pacific.)

• No by-products

• All natural, whole seafood

• Human-grade ingredients

All that’s good, but I think that Tiki Cat needs to reach out to cat owners with a more user-friendly website. Maybe that’s in the works. There’s no URL on the can of food, so I had to search for their site. And I don’t love that you have to open up PDFs to get some of the info.

I mentioned that Lanai Luau is Choco’s favorite variety, but he didn’t turn his nose up completely at the others. One variety he tried (Sardine Cutlets) contained strips of real sardines. I figured he’d go nuts for them, but he merely sucked all the juice off and left the fish. Weird cat.

One thing’s for sure — Tiki Cat offers plenty of flavor options. There’s much besides tuna! Read more about ingredients at Petropics.

Have you tried Tiki Cat?
