Revisting a Special Moment

In this blog many of the journal writing prompts and challenges are about revisiting moments in our lives, special or not so special. Think about one of those special moments. Search for a moment so good you’d give anything to experience it all over again. Now write about that moment. Spend time going over the details of that experience. Try to define the emotions you lived through at that time. Enliven your senses by writing about the minute details of the event, the usual smell, sound, etc, but don’t forget a sense of time and where you were, outside or inside. Can you possibly repeat this moment? Why or why not? Would you want to?
Spend time with these ideas in your journal today. I hope you enjoy this journal writing prompt. Please leave any comments in the section below. Today if you do leave comments you may win a prize.

I absolutely love to journal. I keep a journal to each of my children to give to them one day when they are older. thanks for the chance to win.
we all have “those moments” in life that feel so special that we wish they could last forever. i’ve noticed that the older i get the more i pay attention to those moments and try to fully absorb them. what a great idea to journal it…ALL the details. immediately made me think of my most recent visit to the coast with my husband.
This is a wonderful journal prompt. I just recently discovered this blog and am using the prompts for ideas on my personal blog. Thanks for the ideas!
Great article, Heather. You are my role model for Journal blogging. I’ll be putting you up on my Blog Roll this week. WriteON!
I have not kept a journal since I was a teenager, but I want toget back into so I can remember special moments- like the birth of my son!
Thanks!
Definitely enter me.
And to be al ittle more on topic? Writing prompts are awesome.
I am going to think about this for a while. I wonder if I think about it as I fall asleep I would dream it.
Now that I have kids I’ve found that writing in a journal is paramount. There are so many things that I want them to know and stories to tell.
Thank you for the journal prompts. I’m so sentimental so this one is a great one for me.
You know what? I’m getting married in a month, I wish this was posted….oh I don’t know….a year ago?? I would totally have written about the engagement and planning for our future children.
This one was tough, it’s hard to remember details, even of such special moments.
The day I laid eyes on my son, and the feeling I felt when I first held him is one that I would definitely like to relive over and over!

I never know what to say in my journal. I am glad to have found this site.
I love writing rhyming poems, Usually about moments in my own life that are special – some small, some large; some happy, some not so..writing that way, I can look back and remember.
I make attempts at journaling, but I’m not consistent.
This is so much fun! Not only have I gotten the chance to read some really great blogs, but I also have a chance to win something, too!!
This is beautiful.
Thank you for the great blog and contest!
Amy
I haven’t written in a journal since before my children were born. Maybe this would be a good exercise to get started again. Please enter me in the giveaway

great idea
Hope i win the surprise gift.
This is a wonderful prompt (but I think I’ll have to save it for another day).
There are so many things I’d like to write down so I don’t forget – and so I can pass along to my kids, but I get overwhelmed with trying to make it “perfect” – thanks for the post and encouragement to give it another shot without trying to get it “just right” – the important thing is to just get it down on paper!
A kiss. You fall into gentle loving arms holding you as softly as the air holds a fetaher suspending it in mid-air. You are falling into that kiss. Suspended in the moment. You are the kiss.
I think keeping a record of special moments is important. I have a cedar chest full of journals, cards, awards, newspaper clipping, and more that I’ve collected throughout my life. I enjoy going through the cedar chest once in a while and remembering special moments.
Thank you so much for always offering such wonderful contest.
I would LOVE to win
I look for things to be grateful for everyday. An attitude with gratetude I call it.
Wow, thanks for all the lovely comments. There are too many to respond individually, which I would love to do. There’s still time for entering the contest if you haven’t already commented. I’m looking forward to announcing the winner, when I draw the name, in just another day.
