RFID and Cancer

I am all for technology and I am definitely awed by RFID (Radio Frequency Identification), wherein products and goods are tagged with the tiny radio device that will help manufacturers to track and ID their products. Okay that is good.

But when RFID is used to identify people, I am definitely aghast. Imagine people implanted with microchip for identification and tracking? That is not a good scenario, me thinks, for whatever good purpose it will serve. Or maybe I have just seen too much of sci-fi movies?

Anyways, I still do not buy RFID on people. Thankfully there are reports that microchip implant can cause cancer – which actually hurt the manufacturers, businesswise. Maybe good news for us humans?

Read the full report at NY Times.
