Rice Bran Oil Against Heart Disease and Cancer

A few days ago, we bought our first bottle of Rice Bran Oil. I’ve read a number of preliminary studies on the (potential) health benefits rice bran oil, all due to antioxidant properties conferred by its high tocotrienol (vitamin E) content. Among the potential health benefits are mostly in promoting cardiovascular health (reduce plasma cholesterol, reduce cholesterol absorption and decrease early atherosclerosis, inhibit platelet aggregation) but a recent study also shows that tocotrienols may also hold promise in combating cancer.

I’ve found rice bran oil to be mildly flavored and quite a pleasant alternative to canola and olive oil. I’m not saying it’s healthier, but it’s nice to have a little variety, eh?

I have done alot of research on rice oil and I find it to be healthier than canola and olive oil. There is so much bad press on canola oil I would just stay away from it if half of it is true. Olive Oil is great for salads but I don’t like cooking with it. I like cooking with rice oil because of the high smoke point. It can be hard to find so I buy it online from http://www.californiariceoil.com-good value.
