Running Burns More Calories Than Walking

Of course, you knew that already. Running burns WAY more calories than walking. But did you know how MANY more? I checked a chart yesterday and saw that walking for 15 minutes with hills will burn 81 calories. Walking for one hour will burn 324 calories.

In contrast, if you run for 15 minutes, you’ll burn 183 calories. Running for an hour will burn 731 calories.

So running burns over twice as many calories as walking! Which means you can run for 30 minutes and burn more than if you walked for an hour. I don’t know about you, but I don’t have an hour to walk each day!

Yesterday, I put on my new, smaller knee brace and went for a 30-minute run. Then I did push-ups and ab crunches while watching Anne of Green Gables with my girls. It doesn’t take much, a little every day, and you’ll find yourself feeling and looking better.

Here’s to a lively weekend!
