Russian Accreditation Suspensions
Russia has suspended two agencies, The Cradle of Hope and Family and Children’s Agency, Inc.
According to the MOE website this is not an official revocation of the accreditation but a suspension to allow time to clear things up. Family and Children’s Agency has one month and the Cradle of Hope has three months to correct whatever caused the suspension. Until then, they are not allowed to process adoptions in Russia.
This is unfortunate for agencies like COH because their China program is not moving quickly and I can only assume they have a limited number of families in the Guatemala program now.
You can use translation websites like Babelfish to translate the MOE website.
Here is the information that I received from a listserve. You can also find the info on FRUA via Karen.
Here is order 654 in Russian – (use google or promt or bable fish to

Marcie,
Do you have any other info on the COH suspension or a weblink to the Ministries page where it might talk about the issue. I used babblefish but could not find the info on suspension.
Thanks,
Greg

The confirmation of COH suspension is here: http://www.usynovite.ru/international/ru/foreign_agencies/
Does anyone have any other info on COH suspension?
From what I have found (and there is not a lot out there) both agencies have been suspended for not complying with Russian law. COH has three months to fix everything.
COH was also denied accreditation by the U.S. State Department: http://travel.state.gov/family/adoption/convention/convention_4240.html
We have just learned that Cradle of Hope has lost their Russian accreditation. What happends to the children who were hosted by would-be parents this July 2009? The intent was for them to be adopted. Is the program canceled and the children left in Russia?
Our daughter Liz Clarke and husband Peter of Fairfield, CT are heart broken after little Inga’s return last Monday.
This is an urgent request and we would like an immediate reply.
Thank you,

It must be heartbreaking. There are alternatives for your daughter and son in law to bring Inga home. It is not really for this comment forum. I have been in their shoes.
