Would you ever give birth at home? There is a growing popularity of women wanting to have their babies in the comfort of their homes. But is it safe? And is it really that much more private and comfortable than giving birth in a hospital?

Many women feel that a home birth makes the event that much more special. Midwifery is become a more common profession as the number of babies born out of a hospital increases. For most of the women choosing this option, they will likely have a safe pregnancy.

However, even there is even the slightest risk of a complication in the pregnancy or anticipated with the birth, it is recommended that the baby be born at a hospital. If a doctor needs to use certain instruments or perform surgery, they won’t be able to do it at someone’s home. To be on the safe side, hospital deliveries are generally considered the safer option.

Do you know of someone that has given birth at home? What has been the experience?

Both myself and my younger brother were born at home. My mom said it felt even more special than at a hospital. We came out healthy and my mom “walked away” in great condition.
I hope someday to live up to a at home birth, but we’ll just see if that will happen.
