Salt Lake To Push Ahead With Solar

A couple of months back, the Salt Lake County officials had been looking at putting in solar panels on the roof of their buildings. Well, buildings that were owned by the government in their area. Now, what Mayor Peter Corroon is doing is making ways on how to install all these panels without having to shell out much.

And these plans also include asking help and teaming up with other companies and organizations to also bring solar to the residents. These include the city of Salt Lake, the Kennecott Land, and the Utah Clean Energy. They have been targeting the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and the Sandia National Laboratories to help them with such a plan. And one thing that the officials of the mentioned county want is to make the motions go through faster.

Ann Ober is the environmental policy coordinator of the mayor and she said, “We want to find where the barriers are to residential solar. Based on the findings, the county’s goal will be to remove those barriers … and institute a solar incentive program.”
