Salute to Kindred Spirit

In Honor of John Galt

I passed a sign on US 191 that said In Honor of John Galt. I felt an immediate connection to an unidentified human being in that moment.

It’s a literary nod at a character in Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged. Which, if you’ve never read it, it is revolutionary cult literature. Throughout the book people keep asking Who is John Galt? The phrase becomes an expression of helplessness and despair at the current state of the world. I used to see the words scrawled on public bathroom stalls.

So, who ever bought the Adopt-A-Highway sign to write In Honor of John Galt. I salute you. I get you. I totally dig you.
