The cover reads:
Caught live in St. Louis on their sold-out 2006 U.S. tour. Sammy and the Wabos bring down the house with songs from their new album, Livin’ It Up! as well as osme of Sammy’s famed solo work. Joined on stage for the second half of the show by legendary Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, the band rips through some of the rock radio’s classic tunes, from “I Can’t Drive 55″ to “Finish What You Started” and “Right Now.” It’s one big Cabo party with the “Red Rocker”!
That’s the sales pitch! Now for my pitch…
At the risk of really dating myself – I’ve been a fan of Sammy Hagar’s for about 25 years. I’ve watched him transition from the Montrose days to just being Sammy Hagar and then on through his Van Halen Hagar days. Which by the way I think Sammy made Van Halen!
Of course most of the memories I have of Sammy Hagar are linked to the bus rides to and from school while secretly pining after the boy who would always sit in the seat in front of me while listing to “Love Walks In.”
While Love Walks In isn’t on this particular DVD, the unique sound of Sammy that captured the hearts of teenage girls in the 80’s is. And what teenage boy hasn’t jammed out on their air guitars to the classic sounds of Sammy Hagar and The Wabos?
Whether you’re like me and a child of the 80’s or have parents who were, this is one of those timeless classics that should adorn every DVD collection — for the memories alone.
By the way, I married the boy who used to set one seat in front of me
Sammy Hagar and The Wabos: Livin’ It Up! Live in St. Louis is available on Amazon for as little as $14.99.
