Saturday’s Writing Workshop

Well, Saturday’s workshop with the ladies from Society of Women Writers went really well. I didn’t end up with enough time to get my photos printed out, so I grabbed my pile of old TIME magazines and clipped out some pics the old-fashion way. It didn’t matter. Having an image to write from was enough as writing prompt. We worked on highlighting the senses in our writing. Using the prompts I Will Always Remember… and others I developed for the workshop, the ladies wrote and read out their responses for over two hours. They had some amazing stories between them, too.

The workshop was held in a Covent where the women were on writing retreat. I was surprised how quite the place was, which was perfect for a writing retreat. I was annoyed that I forgot to bring my camera, but I snapped a shot of the materials I used instead. I hope I’m asked to do another writing workshop some time soon. I enjoyed the company of those creative and inspiring women.
