Saving & Sharing Your Quilting Memories

Do you have quilting memories…either good or not so good? Write these down in a journal or computer log. I’ve recently discovered that some of my memories of my quilting life are fun, thought provoking, frustrating, and just something to share.

*You can do this as a scrapbook with photos to accompany the stories.

*Keep a journal in which you write down memories, with sketches, without thinking of chronology.

*Develop a chronological chart of your quilting experiences.

*Consider publishing your memories, at least for your family.

*Incorporate them into a novel or children’s book.

How are you saving your quilting memories for your family and friends?

My mom is a quilter. she takes photos of everything she does and glues them into a big photoalbum and writes down when she made it and to who she gave it too. it’s a big fat book by now. I’ve been thinking about blogging about it, maybe I should take some photos and share it?! :-)

Oh Hanna, I would love to see a sample page!

It’s so important to keep a record of your quilting, because there is a story behind every one – whether in where the fabric came from or in the significance of the design.

Plus most of the quilts leave the quilter’s possession. Your mom was very wise to do that from the beginning.
