Scrabble Prompts

While my mother has been visiting we’ve played a lot more Scrabble; at least more than we usually do. I often notice the way words are repeated throughout the one game or evening. Themes occur and new words are uncovered each time I play.

Just playing the game has encouraged me to think about words in different ways. Each time I discover a new word I take the time to note the word and definition in my journal. So I won’t forget these new words I note them down on a piece of scrap paper, later transferring them into my journal.

I make an effort to find ways to use these new words in my journal entries. I’m kind of like a kid playing with new toys. Tonight I discovered fantasticate and xis. This second word might be a bit more difficult to incorporate into my journal entries, but I will try.
