Good luck ladies and gents….Do let me know if you get selected, ok?

Scrap N’ Art Open Design Team Call

Ends September 21st, 2008

Scrap N’ Art eZine is holding our very first open design team call, and we want to see what YOU can bring to our publication! Please note that this call is for paper designers, not digital designers (we will be holding a call for digital designers in early 2009.)

Scrap N’ Art
is a revolutionary scrapbooking & paper crafting eZine unlike anything currently available in the scrapbooking market! Please check us out at www.scrapnart.com and download an issue for free! See what we are about, and decide if Scrap N’ Art is a good fit for you! We boast a rapidly growing subscriber base that reaches thousands of readers from all around the globe! We work closely with major and boutique manufacturers from all over the scrapbooking and paper crafting industry to promote their products. We share our love for this amazing hobby with our loyal readers on a bi-monthly basis and we want YOU on our team!

What we expect:

Scrap N’ Art design team members enjoy very generous perks, but they also work VERY hard for them. As a Scrap N’ Art designer, we expect a full commitment from each and every designer to meet (or beat) all deadlines and consistently put forth fresh, top quality, out-of-the-box projects. Projects will include layouts, altered items, articles, manufacturer interviews and some product reviews. Our designers not only create scrapbooking projects for our publication, but they also write articles, reviews, and tutorials that we publish. Strong writing skills and/or past writing experience will definitely get you a second look!

We are currently seeking DT members who can commit to a 12-month term, which may be extended or ended at the Executive Editor’s discretion (upon performance evaluation). Scrap N’ Art designers must boast amazing creativity that is completely out-of-the-box, and a passion for sharing what you know and love about scrapbooking and paper crafts with our readers. Excellent team-player attitudes and abilities will prevail in this design team. We often rely on fellow designers to pick up slack when one of our own has an emergency or has to be away for any length of time.

• An average issue’s assignments can include up to 10-15 individual paper crafting projects, in addition to 1-3 written items per issue. Design team members have around 8 weeks to complete these projects for each issue.

• Design team members are also responsible for checking their Scrap N’ Art email address at least once daily, and must commit to being very active on our forums. We offer challenges and contests all month, every month and we rely heavily on our DT to keep communications in the forums moving in a fluid and consistent manner.

• Because we are a publication, we require the photography (or scans) of design team projects to be VERY high quality. Please keep this in mind when applying for our team.

• We do NOT require an exclusive contract. We accept designers that are currently on other design teams as long as the designer can meet our deadlines with quality work.

How to Apply:

Our design team search is being kept short and sweet. It will end on September 12th, 2008. The new designers will be announced on the www.scrapnart.com website no later than September 20th, 2008. You MUST comply with all submission requirements to have your application looked at by our staff. Applications turned in after September 12th, or with missing information or projects will not be considered. Due to the current price of shipping packages overseas, this call is open only to US residents (including Hawaii and Alaska). Good luck ladies, we can’t wait to see what you can do!

E-mail the following to our DT coordinator Amy Hadley at amy@scrapnart.com. Please remember that we are NOT currently looking for digital scrapbookers at this time. Your email must include all of the following:

• Your name, home address, phone number and email address (this will NOT under any circumstances be shared with anyone outside the Scrap N’ Art staff)

• 3 scrapbook page layouts (12″x12″, 8.5″x11″, 12″x6″, or a combination of sizes)*

• 1 altered item or mini-album*

• Your choice of: a short review of your current favorite scrapbooking product, or a written tutorial on your favorite scrapbooking technique (no length requirements).

• Your scrap resume (include any information about past or current design teams, classes taught, publications you have been in, and any other relevant information)

• A link to any online galleries (not required, but helpful)

• A list of current design team obligations, if any

• A note explaining why you feel you would make a good asset to our team

*Page layouts and altered items do not have to be newly created, but should be indicative of your current scrapbooking and/or paper crafting style. You can scan or photograph your projects, but please make sure the images you send are high quality enough for us to see the details. No images larger than 250kb, please!
