Senate Passes Mental Health Parity Act of 2007!

Yesterday I promised to dive deeper into this video, and I will; however, I must first pass along this exciting bit of news:
The US Senate unanimously voted to pass the Mental Health Parity Act of 2007 (S. 558)!
This means individuals and families covered under employer-sponsored group health insurance plans will receive the same amount of mental health coverage as physical health coverage.
Of course, we can’t get too caught up in the success. Mental Health America says:
Despite this victory, our work is not over. Another parity bill is slowly advancing in the House of Representatives. Both chambers, of course, have to agree on and pass the same parity bill. As the dust settles, we will need your help to be sure that the strongest possible mental health parity bill gets sent to the president. You’ve already made a difference, and we can do it again.
Yes, we definitely can do it again!
