Sending Thankful E-mails of Cheer

Eileen, from The Artful Crafter, shared in a comment on my post, Writing a Thankful Poem, about sending “Thankful E-mails” this Thanksgiving. What a great idea! For Thanksgiving or any time of the year. (The Thankful Poem idea also was mentioned in a post, Writing a Thankful Poem for Thanksgiving, at Alzheimer’s Notes, as a fun family activity.)
I wrote thankful emails to some special people this year. I know it’s not as personal, but it’s immediate and I thought that would be nice – for them to know I was thinking of them and giving thanks at that very minute, said Eileen.
I agree, Eileen. E-mails are our method of communication (along with text messages, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) nowadays to let friends and family know we’re thinking of them. We still can write notes to send through the mail, and it’s nice to go to the mail box and find something other than bills and junk mail.
However, just to let others know you’re thinking of them spreads a special feeling. I did write Happy Thanksgiving e-mails to those who have e-mail. I also tried to personalize each, rather than sending a blanket e-mail to many people. (Sometimes servers won’t let you send too many messages at the same time for fear of spam.)
Then for those who don’t have e-mail, I often send postcards.
Do you write “thankful notes,” whether handwritten or electronically? Do you spread cheer.
