When I get a chance to visit Yard Sales or Flea Markets, I am always on the lookout for unique tablewares and platters. I get so excited finding old platters. Being an avid foodblogger who loves taking pictures of dishes, these platters come in handy.
Albeit Etsy is not a “Yard Sale” per se, it’s probably one of the few stores online where you could find really neat and unique things. Have you seen the Turkey salt & pepper shaker set?
Anyhoo, I found this Seven Deadly Sins Platter Set that I really want to get.

These plates are Reworked vintage English china plates. PRIDE, LUST, GLUTTONY, ENVY, GREED, WRATH, and SLOTH are written on the floral painted plates. I think they would be a great conversational piece among the guests. Imagine their “ooohs” and “aaaahsss” when they see the words, respectively. OR, invite friends for dinner and assign 1 deadly sin plate to each of them. Talk about a naughty party,

$135 a set from Etsy. I can’t afford that so I’ll just dream about them. Maybe someday I’ll find something similar from a Yard Sale or at a flea market. Hey, you know what they say, “One’s Trash Is Another Man’s Treasure” .

I think it would freak me out a bit to eat off of some of these. Eating off the Gluttony one might help me to eat better though.
Yeah, let’s hope whoever uses these plates for guests still have friends after the dinner…LOL.
