Seven Random Facts About the Woman Behind Declutter It!

I rarely participate in tags for the sole reason of “I don’t have time!!”, but this one seemed like a lot of fun. Maricar over at Keeping the Castle tagged me to do a meme on 7 random facts about me, the woman behind Declutter It! (I feel like I should have theme music playing now. :) ) Thanks Maricar!

1. Messy closets shutter when they see me coming! That’s right…my favorite thing to organize are closets. I’m not sure exactly why. I think maybe it’s because people tend to ignore their closets. They have doors on them so the mess can easily disappear.

2. For my 20th birthday I went skydiving. It was one of the best moments of my life. We jumped twice and the second jump was at sunset. I was so excited I was screaming my head off! It is something I will definitely do again someday.

3. I have 3 children. They are 9, 7 and 3. My 9 year old girl wants to be a movie star. She just played grandma in a Little Red Riding Hood musical. So cute! My 7 year old boy wants to be an Olypic gymnast. He loves showing off on the bars at the playground. And my 3 year old, well…..he wants to do and be whatever his brother wants. I am very proud of all of them!

4. My husband married the girl in the upstairs apartment who partied too late and annoyed the heck out of him. Yes, that’s me. My roomate and I just liked to have fun. :) He would take his broom at night and hit the ceiling to tell us to be quiet. Funny…I never seemed to hear him do that. We finally realized that we were the perfect balance for each other. He has calmed me a down a bit and I have showed him how to have some fun! :)

5. I found out when I was in the 5th grade that I was adopted. I finally decided last year to find my birth mom. It has been a wonderful experience for me. She has turned out to be a great woman and married a very nice man. I now have a new sister and brother who are a few years younger than me. I hope some day to write a children’s book on what it’s like to be adopted and to meet your birth mom. It’s one of those projects I’ll do “someday”.

6. I love mexican food with a cold margarita. Oh man, I’m hungry now, lol! My favorite dish is chicken enchiladas, refried beans and mexican rice and my margarita has to have a good amount of salt on the rim. Did I mention I’m hungry?

7. I love romantic comedies. I’ve started a little collection and I swear I could watch them over and over again. My 2 favorites at the moment are The Holiday and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. My poor husband has to put up with them.

Alright, well there you go. Those are 7 very random facts about me. Now I am suppose to tag 7 people. Here they are: Ariane Benefit over at Neat Living, Christy Reisinger over at Christy’s Blog, J.T. Dabbagian over at J.T. Dabbagian’s blog, Craig over at Craig Soup Design, Jen over at Domestic Goddess, Monica Ricci over at Your Life. Organized and Jane May over at JaneMayBlogs.

Here are the rules:

Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to then report this on their own blog with their 7 things as well as these rules. They then need to tag 7 others and list their names on their blog. They are also asked to leave a comment for each of the tagged, letting them know they have been tagged and to read the blog.

Have fun!

How did you find out? Little Pickel knows all about his story because we don’t want to be “one of those” families to hide information and have it come back to haunt us. Would love to have you write a guest article about your story when things calm down at your house.

  2. Julie, what fun! I’ll be happy to play — just as soon as I get done with following your excellent example… by which I mean, getting organized over at my new site! Those darned categories… but then what do we expect, you should (not) see my home office! ;-) Jen

  3. Monica Ricci says:

Julie, I did it! Now the world knows seven useless things about me. :)

By the way, your pic on the About page is gorgeous. You are one hot mama!

    Here you go, Julie!
Seven Not-So-Random Things… (hmm, yes, well, I bent the rules just a teensy little bit!)

  5. Julie says:

@Pickel – I think I owe you an email from a few days ago. I am so sorry. Life has just been so overwhelming these past few weeks. I would love to do a guest post. I’ll shoot you an email in case you don’t see this reply.

  6. Julie says:

@Monica – thanks for playing! I have always loved the picture of you looking up at the camera. Very cute! I might try that pose when I get sick of the picture I have now. I actually had that picture taken in my living room. I had to photo shop out a laundry basket. Shhhhh…don’t tell anyone. :) Hehehe

  7. Julie says:

@Jen and Monica – i’m headed over to your sites now to learn more about you!!

  8. Maricar says:

Thanks for playing along, Julie! I love your random facts, and getting to know you better. :)

  9. Julie says:

    You’re welcome Maricar!

  10. Monica Ricci says:

Julie, thanks. I love the angle on that photo too. It’s just a little different, which appealed to me during the photo shoot. And I know what you mean… I had to photoshop out a giant alligator. shhhhh don’t tell! ;)

  11. Hi Julie!
Thanks for tagging me. I enjoyed getting to know you a little better. Then I spent a few minutes sharing 7 things about myself. Hopefully I did it right, it was my first meme.
    Best Wishes!

  12. ~Amy says:

About #3….my son (10 years old) is a gymnast. He is a level 6 gymnast. He practices 15 hours a week year round. Today starts the season (competes from Jan. thru April).

It is a great sport. I hope your son gets to live his dream.

    ~Amy

  13. Julie says:

@Amy – It is so nice to meet other gymnast moms. I am so new to this world and feel a little lost at times. 15 hours a week????? That is amazing. My son is in level 4 and he practices 6 hours a week, although he would live there if we let him. :D

I just got back from helping out at a girl’s meet. It was fun watching the girls on the floor and beam.

Our next meet is Feb. 2-3. Wish him luck…and let’s keep in touch. I’d like to hear how you balance gymnastics with homework and just life in general.
