Chocolate and chili were common ingredients of an Aztec beverage, 1500 years old. The Aztec civilization is not from south America, is from México, which is part of north America. They didn't call themselves Aztecs, but Mexicans. Their chocolate was not refined as nowadays, that process was invented in the 1800's by the Swiss. Chocolate means "bitter water" in the Aztecs' Nahua language. Personally, I don’t believe in aphrodisiac foods or beverages. For me the only aphrodisiac is love, a good partner, her smells and flavor, a good setting and some erotic films or books.

chocolate and chili: a hot exploding combination. aphrodisiac or not, chocolate with chili will sure tingle the senses. but then maybe the aphrodisiac effect is dependent on a person's key enzymes or something. ;-)

Recently, my sister and I bought Lindt dark chocolate/cherry/chili. It was good. Although, I didn't feel any kick in my libido. haha
