Shields blames parents for troubled stars

Brooke-Shields

Brooke Shields has put the blame on bad parenting for so many young celebrities going off the rails and getting themselves into legal troubles.

The actress has claimed stars like Lindsay Lohan, Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton would behave better if they had been correctly brought up.

It’s funny that one of Hollywoods most watched mothers is speaking out against the way that today’s young stars are being parented. I remember when I was a teen, parents were furious over the acting that Brooke herself was doing saying her mother was the negligent parent.

It’s nice to see that Brooke has such strong ethics when it comes to her own little ones.

Do you agree with Brooke? Do you think if actresses like Lindsay, Britney and Paris would have been raised differently, they might be behave better? Or would they end up rebelling against the rules that would have been enforced?

Honestly, I’m thinking it’s a double edged sword. Some people can handle stardom at an early age, some can’t.

I think Brooke’s mother was considered to be very controlling, even if she agreed to let her daughter do The Blue Lagoon…

Drew Barrymore had a wild youth due to bad parenting, but she seems to have turned out OK. Brit will probably turn things around after she gets over the PPD.

Lindsey and Paris? The only parenting mistake there is not reducing their allowances by about 99.9 per cent.
