One of the biggest questions single girls have these days is whether or not to call a guy she is interested in. Some girls worry that calling her potential love interest may scare him away, while others believe that women should have every right to make a move just like a guy would. But what the right answer? Here are some tips to you decide what’s best for you.

Is He Shy?
Some guys are just not very good at asking out girls. They think a lot about saying the perfect thing, and often wait so long that the girl probably ends up taken by someone else. If you’ve spent some time with a guy and he seems to really like you (but never seems to ask you out), go ahead and suggest getting together for something casual. Perhaps grabbing a cup of coffee? This way you can do something fun with him and also have some one-on-one time where you can feel him out about a date.

Has He Tried to Ask You?
If a guy has asked you out once a very long time ago and never done it again, he may be discouraged to try again. Perhaps you were busy the first time he asked, or had a boyfriend. For whatever reason, you couldn’t make it then but you’re interested in now. Go ahead and see if he’s interested in a casual date. Perhaps a lunch, hike, or day at the flea market.

Not Sure if He’s Interested or Available?
Sometimes the reason a guy hasn’t asked you out is because he’s taken or simply not interested. Feel him out before asking. See if he has a girlfriend, is looking for a date, or has the same interests as you. Get to know him a bit before asking him.
