Silicone baking ware?

Has anyone tried these? I want to believe! But I’m just uncertain, so I’d like to hear from some of you who use these. They claim:

  • Non-stick easy release
  • Oven, microwave, refrigerator, freezer and dishwasher-safe

Are they? Do you need to use any release agent on them at all? A little cooking spray perhaps? Do they really hold up to repeated heating, freezing, and washing?

They’re available at your local Walmart, among other places.

I have never baked in them before, but they are great for freezing pre-cooked portions of food. For instance, you can use a muffin “tin” and put your muffin batter inside, freeze it and then pop the frozen muffins batters right out for baking later, just storing them in a ziploc bag until needed. The silicone has enough give that it aids the process.

Brilliant, Wendy! I’m going to add your tip and link to the post on OAMC…thanks!
