Simon & Schuster has announced the launch of a new blog called SimonSaysTEACHERtalk.

The initial writer for the blog is first-year teacher Kathleen Kelley.  Kathleen will share thoughts about the daily triumphs and tribulations of a first-year teacher, as well as ideas for lesson plans and using trade books in the classroom.

Kathleen Kelley is a first year teacher at a middle school in a suburb outside of Indianapolis, Indiana. She teaches 7th grade Language Arts and honors Language Arts and possesses some of the most current research ideas in Language Arts and teaching pedagogy. She was involved for two years with the Struggling Readers Study at the University of Dayton, after which she attended and presented at the 2006 National Council of Teachers of English Conference in Nashville and the Ohio Middle School Association Conference.
