Simple Reuse: Wet Pet Food Leftover Containers

I mainly feed my cat dry food, but when I give him wet food I like to divide it. Otherwise, he will either eat too much at once and hurl, or the food will get crusty in the bowl.
There are lots of easy leftover cat food container solutions right in your home. Don’t buy one of those fancy plastic containers or special lids at the pet store.
Items to reuse for wet pet food leftovers:
•Baby food jars
•Hand cream jars (pictured – mine is from Burt’s Bees)
•Small mustard or relish jars
•Short jars that contained fruit preserves or jam
•Those cute, squat minced garlic jars
Glass jars that aren’t too deep and come with a metal lid will be easy to use and last a long time. Not to mention, you can throw them in the dishwasher.
If you don’t have a leftover pet food issue, you can always use these jars to hold paint for your masterpieces or for storage of homemade spice mixes.

We only feed our cat a little bit too. She’ll only eat about 2 tablespoons of wet cat food. We put the cat inside a ziploc baggie and we just reuse the bag over and over again.
: ) That’s funny. You meant “cat food inside a ziploc baggie” but I’m picturing how a cat would take it… LOL
hahahaahaha Now that would be funny! She probably deserves it, actually.
Question:
if you have 1/2 can left, do you store in in the refrigerator? do you warm it up later or give it cold – i just adopted an older cat but she is a light weight and does not eat a whole can -
Hello Renee. Yes, I store it in the refrigerator. I used to warm it up, but you have to be careful since the microwave doesn’t heat evenly and can create hot pockets. I just give it cold now and my kitty doesn’t seem to mind.
Congrats on your new cat! I’m happy for you, and the kitty too.
