Monday again! Time to consider life, and how I am living it. I appreciate these “daybook” days. Taking a moment to stop and contemplate how I am spending my time is always eye-opening.

For Today…
Outside my Window…Dim and cloudy, blessed rain in the forecast! It has cooled down quite a bit, odd for mid August in Texas but I am so glad! I even have to pull a shwl around my shoulders as I am writing. I love it.
I am thinking…How ready I am for September and the promise of a new season, both physically and spiritually.
I am thankful for…The cooler weather, and provision for every need.
From the kitchen…bare pantry and cupboards. I need to shop. God needs to provide the funds.
I am wearing…black workout pants and a tank top, bare feet, and reading glasses. Comfy but I am not going to win any beauty contests at the moment. Poor Marc!
I am reading…A book I was sent to review for Marriage Actually. It is about a couple that decides to spice things up in their marriage.
I am hoping… To get the book finished well before deadline. I just sent the first half to the editor. I am also hoping that the raccoon that has been stealing our eggs (also beheaded one of our chickens) will just decide that she would rather live somewhere else. I hate for Matt to have to shoot it but we can’t afford either the egg loss OR the chicken loss!
I am hearing…The sound of the printer next to me as Shiloh copies the science pages for herself, Sea, Nick, and Kyrie (she is my elementary science teacher for now!)
I am creating…besides the book? nothing at the moment. I miss my sewing and crafting!
Around the house…I need to clean my office
One of my favorite things…Autumn!!!
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week…Blogging as usual, and I have some articles to get caught up on. I need to do some thinking about my schedule, and I plan to teach a friend to make scones.
Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you…
Isn’t it adorable? A vintage (1930s?) children’s Milk cup that I saw while antiquing with Marc a few weeks ago.

Well, you’ve peaked my interest! I love a good book recommendation! Which Mary Stewart should I read next?

Jodie
Sounds like you have a full week. It’s absolutely hot here today but probably not hot by your standards in Texas.
Thanks for dropping by and commenting! Japan! That is far. Mine going 6 hours away is bad enough.
Jodie-try Airs Above the Ground.
Susanne- 6 hours sometimes feels the same as japan!
Oh that mug is just adorable! I love antiques!
Thanks for stopping by my blog, so fun to read about your week as well!
Blessings,
Gayly
thanks Gayly for visiting
Good to find another Mary Stewart fan.
Love the antique–most of mine go un-bought as well. I keep seeing all these people talking about their homeschooling starting up and think ooo, I want a schedule, and text books, and to teach. Sigh. Mine prefer to work on their own and are learning so constantly that I seldom have much say other than conversation (right now the oldest is writing a book, and in the process learning about plot, story arc, spelling, and multiple other things, the youngest is teaching himself to read and does science experiments all day, the middle reads everything she finds and sits by me and paints when I am painting and is now developing a website.) Good thing I actually HATE schedules.
Heather…
I understand…this is us…someyears more..some less
Great antique cup pic…
thanks for your comment..
I’m In So New Mexico, and we have had so much rain lately (much more than usual). The weeds and mosquitos love it…
Very nice daybook, thanks for sharing
What a cute cup! I love vintage things. Thanks for sharing.
Have a great one!
Thanks for stopping by Judi
Ivy, me too! thanks for stopping by
Hope you get the racoon/chicken problem solved soon. You could always see if there is a local trapping group and see if someone can live trap it. There are some methods that would be specific for racoons and leave the chickens alone that might help. But the trapper would also have to have a transportation permit/license…/shrug…shooting is easier.
LOL! Thia! I am just praying he goes away.
I love the vintage milk mug! So cute!
