Simply Delicioso is Simply, Eh

I watched the first Latin cook to grace the air waves over at the Food Network.
Simply Delicioso is hosted by Colombian born Ingrid Hoffman. She now resides in Miami and has been a staple of Spanish television for a while.
The show was colorful, this first recipe was ok. My biggest complaint is that the producers need to ditch the music. I don’t mind listening to it when she is not speaking. As she is explaining her dish they play Latin music in the background. I get it! She is Latin!
She has been hitting the talk shows. She was on the Today Show last week and recently was on The Early Show:
The Colombian-born Miami resident is the network’s first Hispanic host.
“Simply Delicioso” (www.deliciosotv.com) is based on Hoffmann’s life as a single woman who adores her dog, Salsita, a 6-year-old Yorkie, and who likes to host dinners for family and friends.
“I don’t eat like I used to eat as a kid in Latin America,” Hoffmann says. “I mix the burgers and the beans. I always say my food is ‘Spanglish.’ “
She tends to say, “It’s ‘Simply Delicioso” a little too much. Of course, it has become impossible to forget the name of her show. The recipes on The Early Show looked good. She takes American cuisine and fuses with Latin flavors. Hmmm…I think our dishonored Jag was planning that pitch.
I intend to try the show out a few more times and attempt some recipes. Simply Delicioso airs Saturday mornings at 11:30am EST on The Food Network.

I thought the show was awful. She is over the top and combination of loud R Ray, giant hoots Giada and not value on the cooking Sandra Lee.
Her food was neither Latino or Latino fusion. Just because you add cilantro to things doesn’t make it Latino or good.
She snaps to much and the calling the food baby and telling the chicken “baby behave” irritates me.
Here is another good looking woman with a cleavage that throws things in a pan and call it “good cooking” yikes! BIG THUMBS DOWN for me
I agree with what Kate said: calling the food babies! She repeats it so much it becomes annoying.
I don’t find her latin cooking lacking latin style.
In one episode she she makes things sound so difficult with the “aji amarillo”, sounds like something so hard to find when in reality all she had to say was yellow peppers!
She will not be a favorite on my list to watch.
I wonder if they would consider changing the name of the show to “Food and Boobs” or “Cleavage and Cleavers” – just a thought.
How come they have to hire an Hispanic who’s muy caliente over-the-top into her Hispanic-ness?
Not that there’s anything wrong w/that, but this woman does not represent me as an Hispanic American. I’m nothing like her, don’t like her food, don’t like her music, but yet this is all I’m given in an Hispanic representative. It’s not fair.
Why can’t a minority be hired by Food Network to simply cook good food (a la Paula, Rachael, Alton, Bobby, Guy, Giada, etc.)?
Ingrid Hoffman is so annoying, I do not like her show, Food Network should have done a better job if they were trying to add a minority to their lineup!
Too bad they don’t have the feature where you can pick your own lineup because the Sunday morning lineup is terrible. If she had of been on Food Network Star she would have lost. Her food is not appealing, her cooking technique and skills are poor, Simply Delicioso is Simply Horrible. Bring Sara Back
She is great, her receipes are Fantastic! They are all jealous of her!!
