Skateboards Become Foot Wear

In an interview with Treehugger, Kris Lovett relates her story: “While I was standing on the tail of my board I noticed the geometry that the skateboard made with the ground.” On that note, she continued to share the moment that made her go about and venture into creating her product: “Since my shoe was used to create this geometry, I realized that women’s heel/shoe fit perfectly into this geometry.”

And that is when Kris Lovett started out making shoes for women. These shoes are not merely just about any kind of shoes. They are really fun to look at and they can really catch a person’s attention. But what could interest you more is that they are made using old skateboard decks. Now that’s really something.

According to Lovett, she started out using the boards to create the shoes as part of her thesis for her senior year. Now, people are amazed to find those really cool shoes to have been fashioned out of those old skateboard decks.

  1. Wow… love the shoes, love the concept and love the way they are using intuition and inspiration to make such a neat ‘green’ shoe!

It’s a lot more appealing than the old rubber tire sandals, isn’t it? LOL!

  2. Skateboards says:

This simply tell that a vintage skateboard still has a used and can be reprocessed to become a new things. The concept of having the skateboard as a shoe in a great and very unique idea.
