Sleepless nights

Does your pain keep you awake at night – or wake you up from your sleep? I’m lucky enough that it doesn’t happen too often, but tonight is one of those nights.

In all fairness, it isn’t just pain or discomfort that is keeping me awake. One of the causes is lying on her bed right now, looking very pleased with herself after yet another attempt at emptying my garbage can:

That’s Dee, my 9-year-old greyhound and this is the mess she made the other day:

It’s a good thing for her she’s cute.

Actually, I wasn’t sleeping very well at the start. You know those half-sleep states when you’re not really awake, but you’re not in that restful place yet? That’s when I realized I heard Dee tip tapping across the kitchen floor and to her bed, across the kitchen floor and back to her bed…. So up I got and found her in mid-garbage emptying.

I tried going back to sleep after but although I’m not hurting a lot, it’s just enough to keep me from getting comfortable – and that’s what would explain this post at 1:30 in the morning. Of course, Dee is upstairs in my bedroom, on the floor on her bed, sound asleep. Brat.

Ok, I think I’m going to take something and see if this pain will ease off a bit. I hope that anyone who is reading this instead of sleeping gets some good sleep soon.

G’night.
