Snickerdoodles

Snickerdoodles are simple to make and everyone loves them. If you are looking for an easy cookie recipe this holiday season, these are a fabulous choice. This recipe is for a big batch – perfect for a holiday party, bake sale or get together.

SnickerdoodlesIngredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 teaspoons cinnamon

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat butter for 30 seconds on medium speed.
  3. Beat in 2 cups sugar, along with baking soda and cream of tartar, scraping sides until well combined.
  4. Stir in eggs and vanilla.
  5. Beat in flour until well combined.
  6. In a separate bowl, combine 1/4 cup sugar and 3 teaspoons cinnamon.
  7. Shape the dough into 1-inch balls and roll in cinnamon sugar to coat.
  8. Place balls onto a cookie sheet (sprayed with cooking spray), two inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10 minutes or until edges are slightly brown.
  10. Remove from sheets to cool on wire racks.

Makes 5 dozen cookies.

    Try it with pumpkin pie spice instead of cinnamon for an added kick.
