Now just how do I do that – hmmmm?
Hey! A Dozen Steps is part of the Science and Health Channel at b5media, in case ya’ didn’t know
and today is the first Thurs. of the new month so we always have a theme day today. They decided we should all post an entry about a Top Ten list of some type. I’ve got A Dozen Steps and I can’t/won’t eliminate a single one of them for a recovering alky because we work a Twelve Step program not a Ten Step program! So there
Like, which of the Twelve would you not include to make it Ten? Yeah – I know what most beginners would want to eliminate! #’s 4 and 9, right? You know – dam* that inventory cr*p and forget about making amends. After all, they did it to me, right?
I did give some consideration to a Top Ten list of excuses we use to “pour me a drink” but came up with way too many over a thousand that I couldn’t boil it down to just Ten.
I thought about a list of the Top Ten things I could blame for my drinking but I ran into the same difficulty as I had with the Top Ten excuses!
And then – a brainstorm! Kiddin’… I thought perhaps you’d be interested in the Top Ten posts you folks read here at A Dozen Steps. Purely self-centered in the extreme lol.
#1 – Bathroom Humor
#3 – A Matter Of Choice?
#4 – Twelve Qualities Of Sponsorship
#5 – Before The Lingo Had Evolved
#6 – Ninth Step – A Thought Or Two…
#7 – There But…
#8 – Thy Will, Not Mine, Be Done
#9 – Herbert Spencer Didn’t Write It?
#10 – The Evolution Of The Twelve Steps Of AA
The funny thing is that if you take a look at the Top Ten phrases folks search for to wind up at A Dozen Steps they correlate rather well with the Top Ten list of most viewed entries;
functional alcoholic
10th step
recovery humor
alcoholics anonymous by the grace of god there go i
as bill sees it
aa 5th step
aa grapevine 12 step books
the official 12 steps of aa
what is a functional alcoholic
third step in recovery christian
Okay. Now I can move on to the Top Ten rationalizations and then to the Top Ten justifications… Nope, same problem.

This post made me smile. I hope that was the intended effect!
Hi Hsien!
Yep! That it was! Glad it worked for ya’
More seriously though …
If I just HAD to make the steps into ten, I’d probably combine 6&7 and then combine 8&9.
As you most certainly know, they steps began as only 6.
Yep the 6 from the Oxford group, I think
Right on Mark!!
Very Cool ~ especially #1
